28 Apr 2007 - Premier teams shades it at Perth
Perth City hosted the first of their two Premier League galas on Sat 28th April. After the first gala had narrowly went our way down in Dundee, Perth would have been hoping to square things up at the top of the league on their home patch.
We travelled with a strong team and after the first eight medlay realys Perth and ourselves could not be separated. Forfar had some good early results with their youngsters who continue to look strong and sat a comfortable third.
As the gala progressed it was the Perth City team who edged ahead opening up an eight point lead at one point. However, we fought hard and managed to turn this defecit roud to take a five point lead ourselves. Perth were not going to go down tamely and the came storming back to again lead by a point in the middle of the last set of individual events.
As we entered the last eight events (freestyle relays), DCA held a narrow two point lead. After the first five relays, Perth had again turned this round into a one point lead. In the end it came down to the last three relays where we won all of them (with Perth second) and narrowly took victory.
Well done to all, let's hope we can keep up the good work.
