29 Dec 2007 - Bag pack (part 2) - great boost to club funds
The club held the second of its two December bagpacks, this time at Sainsbury's near Claypotts.
After the majority of our senior swimmers being unavailable for the Morrison's bagpack earlier in the month, they turned out in force for this one.
After a steady start in the morning session, things hotted up around the lunchtime changeover and the buckets and tins were jangling regularly.
As we reached the final session, the car park was stowed out meaning a busy two hours but it was well worthwhile as the club benefitted to the tone of just under £1000.
Thanks to all the swimmers (and to those parents) who did their share, the time certainly passed quickly. Thanks must also go to Elaine Plenderleith for organising both this and the earlier event.
We must pass our thanks both to the Sainsbury's supermarket for supporting us and to the generosity of those shoppers who helped our cause.
The money will be used for essential equipment that the club needs to help with the coaching. If these events were not supported as well as they have been our only other option would be to raise the fees to make ends meet so they are an essential part of the successful runing of the club.
