22 Jan 2007 - Stirling Junior Meet - DCA bags lots of medals

The club attended this top quality meet at Stirling over the weekend of 20th/21st January. A group of 11 - 14 year olds had some excellent performances, some getting medals, many producing PB's and all doing the name of the club proud with their attitude and good behaviour.

Those fortunate enough to come away with medals were Pete Stewart with our only gold in the 14yo 100 breast and backing this up with a silver and three bronze medals. One of the bronze medals saw Pete edged out of silver position by our own Jamie Wilmshurst in a great finish in the 200 free. Jamie added to this silver with a further two silvers.

In the 13yo group, again it was our boys coming away with the medals where Matthew Charnley added to his medal haul two weeks previously at Aberdeen with a fine swim to take silver in the 100 fly. Joe Lipworth added a bronze to our medal tally, just missing silver but taking a good bronze in the 200IM.

Other finalists who just missed medals were Louise Kennedy, Kirsty Greenhill and Iain D'Arcy.
