Monday 5th May (Bank Holiday) - There will be no Northern College session for the Teaching Squad that normally runs from 7.30 - 8.15. Normal service will resume the following week (12th May).

STIRLING LONG COURSE TRAINING SESSIONS

SAT 7th JUNE      6 LANES    ALL SQUADS   (note that there is a 1st DIV gala on SAT 7th & STARS of the FUTURE on SUN 8th)   

  

Our Head Coach, Heather Albin, is available most Sunday mornings between 10 & 11am at Olympia if you have any enquiries about coaching.               

 

 

Squad information 

In general the progression through the competitive squads will follow the path from 2- 7 below. Follow the links for details of venues / times of sessions.

 

1    Teaching (non swimmer - improver) -  1 session / week

 

The following squads are those used for swimmers following a path geared for developing swimmers towards competition.

 

2    Skill Development - maximum 2 sessions / week

3    Development - maximum 4 sessions / week

(Gillian would like to remind Skill Development and Development squad swimmers that they should be attending the Sunday pool session from 10.00 - 11.00 and should then stay on to benefit from the land session that follows from 11.15 - 12.00 after pool session)

 

4    Junior Development - maximum 5 sessions / week

5    Junior Potential - minimum 5 sessions / week

   

6    Junior National - minimum 7 sessions / week

7    National - minimum 8 sessions / week

 

 

The following two squads are for swimmers who are not wishing to follow a path through the above competition squad system. Please note that both Club and Masters swimmers will be given the same opportunities to compete at appropriate galas the club are attending and the swimmers will also be considered equally when league teams are being selected.

 

8    Club - maximum 4 sessions / week

9   Masters - no recommendation set

The following squads are for swimmers who have met specific criteria and have been selected for either the Area or Regional (Bronze) squads, they are not operated by DCA.
