Our three teams have had a very successful first year under the DCA banner in 2007, winning both the Premier and 1st Divisions and finishing Runners Up in the 2nd Division.
For 2008 the number of entries to the leagues has been reduced to 3 divisions of 5 teams each. DCA will have two teams in the Premier Division with one in the 1st Division.
For 2008 the Premier Division will run with the normal swimming programme whilst the 1st Division will take on the previous format of he 2nd Division (4 x 25m relays for the 10 & U with 50m fly at all age groups).
Each team hosts one gala throughout the year.
Promotion / relegation is normally on a one up / one down basis.
See the document below for all league dates / venues.
These galas give swimmers the opportunity to compete at a level which will hopefully suit their ability. It is also a great opportunity for swimmers to widen their circle of swimming friends from other competing clubs.
It is important that swimmers selected to represent the club make every effort to compete when selected. If there is a reason a swimmer cannot compete at a gala that they have been selected to swim at, they should inform either the team manager or coach at the earliest possible opportunity to allow alternative swimmers to be selected and to let the team compete at or as near full strength as is possible.
The second of the 1st Division galas will be held at Arbroath on Saturday 17th May.
Warm up is at 5.30pm with a 6.00pm start. There will not be transport provided by the club for this gala. Swimmers should make their own way to Arbroath. If there is anyone struggling to get to Arbroath, let Drew or Charlie know ASAP. Swimmers should also confirm their availability to swim again to either Drew or Charlie.
The team selected for this gala is as follows,
